The OR Nurse performs nursing care in accordance with the standard nursing procedures, medical directions, patient care standards, and Hospital guiding principles.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs the duties of a staff nurse (scrub, circulating, PACU, nurse).
- Reads schedules and notes time, type of case, and anesthesia to be used.
- Makes sure that only accredited consultants are allowed to perform surgical procedures and be part of the operating room team in the OR complex.
- Provides the priorities of available nursing care based on the patient’s needs.
- Makes nurse rounds in the post-anesthesia room to assess the patient’s response to care, evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing care once rendered, and the comfort and safety of the patient.
Qualifications
- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Professional Regulations Commission licensed
- With Perioperative exposure as Circulating & Scrub Nurse to Minor & Major OR Procedures is an advantage
- Preferably with BLS/ACLS Training
