You will be part of a multidisciplinary team in providing cancer care and/or promoting the wellness of patients. On a daily basis, you will identify, resolve, and prevent drug-related problems, recommend and monitor patient-specific drug therapy, assure safe and effective alternatives as appropriate, and oversee drug distribution. In addition, you will be specialized in the sterile compounding of oncology drugs and will be involved in the operation and maintenance of a clean room facility alongside its related equipment.
From time to time, you will also communicate timely and accurate drug information, and provide education to the general public, patients, students, and fellow healthcare workers on matters pertaining to safe and effective medication use.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure medication management is safe, effective, timely, efficient, and in accordance with applicable laws and best professional practices.
- Review medication for appropriateness and intervene with prescriber or follow up when necessary.
- Ensure medications received by patients are identified for them, packed correctly and dispensed within target turnaround time.
- Ensure all prescription, sales, supply, storage and distribution of medications, as well as their documentation, comply with legal requirements and relevant regulations established by the relevant authorities.
- Ensure clean room activities, facilities and equipment comply with environmental, health and safety protocols to minimize risk.
- Compound chemotherapy drugs, ensure proper dosage of chemotherapy, implement safe handling of hazardous/chemotherapy drugs, and comply with FDA/PDEA requirements
- Maintain qualification and operational standards of pharmacy’s facilities and equipment through its timely testing, validation and certification.
- Train pharmacists, technicians and pharmacy/pharmaceutical students according to training plans and guidelines.
- Attend and provide lectures and other forms of continuing education to pharmacy staff and other hospital employees as required.
- Give back to the community by promoting health and well-being programs.
Qualifications:
- Registered and licensed pharmacist in the Philippines
- Graduate of BS Pharmacy. Masters is an advantage
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as an Oncology pharmacist in a hospital setting
- Willing to work in Arca South, Taguig City on a shifting schedule
