The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for the overall management of the development and administration of the hospital’s infection prevention program to include policy development, program staff education, and program coordination assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of services delivered; ensuring quality program, and patient safety.
- Performs daily operational oversight of the infection prevention program, including surveillance of healthcare associated infection, data collection and trend analysis, epidemiologic investigations and other prevention and control activities.
- Serves as the head in the creation, implementation and execution of policies, strategies on the overall infection prevention and control within the hospital.
- Collaborates with the Employees Clinic related to the status of employees’ infections/immunizations/prophylaxis.
- Acts as a team lead in the conduct of environmental inspections.
- Coordinates the day-today implementation of the Infection and Control Program such as provision of training to all health personnel such as but not limited to the following: Hand Hygiene, Isolation Precautions, Waste Management, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization, Healthcare Associated Infections, HIV Awareness Lecture in partnership with HR, etc)
- Acts as a subject matter expert in the drafting of Information Education Communication Materials (e.g. posters, Infection Control Brochure, Hand Hygiene, isolation precautions signages) related to Infection Control.
- Performs compliance checking on infection control processes.
- Aids in the product evaluation of materials, supplies and equipment relating to patient safety and infection prevention and control
- Aggregates and analyzes all infection prevention and control metrics.
- Performs compliance checking on infection control processes.
- Coordinates with the Engineering department in identifying controls to mitigate risk related to construction and renovation.

- Performs pre and post HIV Counseling (Pre and Post Test).
- Coordinates referral of confirmed HIV positive patients to IP doctor
- Gives appropriate information on patient instructions in collection of sputum samples for testing
- Oversees the assessment, management, and reporting of all incidents related to Blood and Body Fluid (BBF) Exposure involving hospital staff as part of the hospital’s Infection Control Program
Requirements
- Graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a valid PRC License
- MAN/MSN units/degree an advantage
- With at least 3 years of experience in bedside nursing and 1-2 years of clinical/hospital experience in Infection Control
- With updated trainings and keeps abreast of practices and trends related to Infection Control
- Willing to work in Arca South, Western Bicutan, Taguig City
