The Chief Pharmacist ensures that the department goals are proceeding according to timelines, meeting targets and expectations, and adhering to established operating parameters, negotiates on project plans as necessary to achieve objectives and timelines.
- Directs, supervises and coordinates policies and procedures in accordance with hospital and government.
- Directs subordinates in ensuring the delivery of quality medicines and supplies to hospital patients.
- Ensures adequacy and proper distribution of drugs and supplies to the different satellite pharmacies.
- Establishes specifications for the procurement of approved drugs by Therapeutics Committee.
- Approves and signs drug requisitions and other related activities.
- Prepares reports and memoranda.
- Prepares special purchases and controls distribution of dangerous and regulated drugs.
- Checks drugs for proper safekeeping and storage.
- Checks and monitors availability of well-functioning equipment.
- Audits, prepares and signs replenishment of petty cash and cash advance as needed.
- Maintains, supervises and directs adequacy of drug/supplies.
- Coordinates procurement of drugs.
- Checks the maintenance of drug inventory control program.
- Checks and validates inventory count sheets.
- Checks and validates unit requisitions and credit memos report.
- Analyzes revenue, expenses and variances.
- Handles complaints, comments and suggestions.
- Approves VL, SL, OT and change of duty of staff.
- Makes recommendations on appropriate disciplinary actions to erring staff based on code of discipline.
- Evaluates performance of subordinates, guides them on how they can improve their work and recommends promotions.
- Reviews/ enhances Department Operating Manual.
- Checks and approves individual work schedules and sees to it that these are strictly followed.
- Prepares monthly performance analysis report and other reports required from the department.
- Prepares annual budget of the department.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
- Other duties, ad hoc tasks, and/or projects that may be assigned.
Requirements
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and a registered Pharmacist with valid PRC License
- Masters degree is an advantage
- With at least 10 years of experience as a Pharmacist in the hospital setting. At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory / leadership position managing a team of Staff Pharmacists
- Experience in Oncology Pharmacy is required
- Willing to work in Arca South, Taguig City (Western Bicutan)
