A Cardiovascular Technologist uses medical equipment to create images and run tests on a patient’s heart and lungs. These professionals use ultrasound imaging equipment for 2D/3D echo and other cardiac and vascular procedures including other machines like ECG, Treadmill, Holter, ABP, etc. to assess how well a patient’s heart works when at rest and during physical activity. The incumbent must be formally trained (HB Calleja) in both cardiac and vascular procedures.
Patient Management
- Collects and analyzes patient’s personal data and health profile through the use of an electronic medical record implemented in the institution.
- Provides appropriate instructions regarding tests and procedures.
- Preparing examination rooms for patient examinations.
- Reassure and comfort, within the limits of your training, the anxious or fearful patient.
- Protect the patient, yourself, and others from contagious diseases by practicing proper isolation, sterile, and aseptic techniques.
- Explain the importance of recording or charting patient information.
- Interview patient’s history.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of the structure and anatomy of the human body, especially the cardiovascular system. Cardiovascular technologist need to understand the heart’s components and how its chambers function.
- Maintaining patient records and adding medical notes related to the procedure.
- Maintaining machine, including following setup and storage procedures, calibrating these machines, cleaning equipment and reporting issues with machines to supervisors.
- Evaluating medical images for clarity and sending the best pictures to cardiologists.
- Encode and perform quality control of all conducted examinations results.
- Well-organized and detailed-oriented.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology / Nursing or any medical related course.
- Professional License in Radiologic Technology / Nursing or any medical field
- Possess certification as a Cardiac Sonographer.
- At least two (2) years related work experience as an Cardiovascular Technologist in a Clinic or Hospital.
- Completion of a cardiovascular certificate/training program from HB Calleja for both cardiac and vascular
- Radiation Protection Seminar
- BLS with ACLS training
- Willing to work in Arca South, Western Bicutan, Taguig City (full-time employment)
